DIE FLEDERMAUS

For the New Year’s Eve – Friday 30 and Saturday 31 December – arrives at the Abbado Theatre Die Fledermaus, the most famous operetta by Johann Strauss, composed to a libretto by Carl Haffner and Richard Genée (taken from “Le Réveillon” by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy) and whose first performance was in Vienna in 1874. Undoubtedly the most represented in the world, in Italy it is still rare to find it in theatrical billboards and is often banned – unjustly – from the big scenes. Die Fledermaus moves between comic opera, farce with music, melodrama with dialogues. It will be presented in Ferrara in a new and brilliant production of the Teatro Comunale Foundation, which combines the splendor of the staging to the skill of the interpreters of the company Corrado Abbati.
