MEETING WITH THE COMPANY
2 march, 6 pm | Ridotto of the Teatro
Going with the memory to a musical I saw as a young boy in Naples, was the first motion of our new show. The musical in question was the “Cyrano” based on the famous comedy by Rostand, contemporary of my beloved Molière. Going back to that experience as a young spectator is for me to feel, strong as then, the attraction for the theater, the emotion for a love story impossible and therefore unsuccessful but, not for this, less present, thanks to the fiction of the scene. The show that at least thirty-five years later I perform, is obviously not the revival of that musical (with music by Domenico Modugno) but a continuous contamination of the story of Cyrano di Bergerac, accentuating more the poetic and visionary side and less the one of the swordsman and hero of rhetoric, with reworkings of those music, but also with elaborations of other music, from Édith Piaf to Fiorenzo Carpi.
