MEETING WITH THE COMPANY
9 March, 6 pm | Ridotto of the Teatro
Canterbury Cathedral, 2 December 1170. These are the last days of Archbishop Thomas Becket, returning from his seven-year stay in France. The monarchy, increasingly powerful and dangerous, has become a real threat, and Becket expresses with resignation, to his priests, the awareness of facing martyrdom. A few days later, four knights sent by Edward II accused him of treason and ended his days.
