Le lois de la gravité tells the story of a woman who, one night in bad weather, goes to the police station in her neighbourhood and confesses to the murder of her husband which took place ten years prior. The “case” was “closed” as a suicide: her husband had thrown himself off the eleventh-floor balcony. The woman – today – says she pushed him off the balcony. In just over an hour, the deadlines for the re-opening of the “case” will expire. Laws of different gravity: the physical: nine and eighty-one meters per second and the other, unmeasurable, is the fall of conscience, within the failures of one’s own lives. A killer who wants to be arrested and a lawyer who doesn’t want to arrest her. Who is on the right side of justice?
