PARSONS DANCE

Parsons Dance is an American contemporary dance company based in New York, internationally recognized for its energetic, athletic and choral dance. Founded in 1985 by Artistic Director David Parsons and Lighting Designer Howell Binkley (winner of the “Tony Award”, famous American award for theater), the company has been on tour in all five continents, in 30 countries and in more than 445 cities, and has performed in the most important theaters and festivals. Defined by New York Magazine as “one of the greatest protagonists of modern dance”, during his career David Parsons received many commendations, including three scholarships for choreography by the National Fund for the Arts; the American Choreography Award; the Dance Magazine Award; a scholarship from the Howard Gilman Foundation; the Dance Masters of America Annual Award; and the Capezio A.C.E. Award.

The American company’s Italian tour includes the famous choreographies The Envelope (1984), The Road (2021), Balance of Power (2020), Caught (1982), Nascimento (1990), Shining Star (2004).
