After the success of Don Giovanni – acclaimed also at the Daegu Opera House, the most important opera house in Korea – continues the path started in the Mozartian repertoire. On July 30 and 2 will be staged Le nozze di Figaro, the new production of the Teatro di Ferrara directed by Adrian Schvarzstein, assistant director and choreographer Jūratė Širvytė-Rukštelė, costumes and scenes by Lilli Hartmann. The lighting design is curated by Marco Cazzola. The conductor of the Orchestra Città di Ferrara is Massimo Raccanelli, while the choir is entrusted to Teresa Auletta. Music director is Leone Magiera, who has selected the cast for this new work: Guido Dazzini (Count), Gianluca Failla (Figaro), Marta Lazzaro (Countess), Gesua Gallifoco and Silvia Caliò (in the roles of Susanna and Barbarina), Alexandra Kirsanova (Marcellina), Nicolò Balducci (Cherubino), Alessandro Agostinacchio (Bartolo), Lorenzo Martelli (Don Basilio / Don Curzio), Gianluca Convertino (Antonio).
For this Marriage of Figaro the environment chosen is that of the miserable Roman suburbs of the 60s of the last century. As in Ugly, dirty and bad by Ettore Scola, “the characters of this comedy are mixed in a continuous succession of events that are the result of a social tension, can not be realized and want to involve others in their failure – explains director Schvarzstein -. The Mozartian work thus becomes an opportunity to smile at conventions, and especially at the different social classes that today, in fact, have no sense”.
