The St. Petersburg Yacobson Ballet Company, founded in 1969 by Leonid Yacobson, one of the most significant choreographers of the Twentieth Century, arrives here in Ferrara for the first time with the festive and engaging Sleeping Beauty by Jean-Guillaume Bart, former étoile of the Paris Opera . With a enchanting technique, grace and rigor, the company revives the splendour of the original Petipa version without relinquishing innovation.
